Corruption Free India – elocution competition by Vigilance team from HAL

On 23rd October 2017, an Elocution Competition was organized in our college by the Vigilance Department of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited an account Vigilance Awareness Week - 2017. The host of this event, Mr. Pradeep Kumar was an ex- superintendent officer in CBI and was currently working with HAL as a Manager. We also had Mr. Phani who was a Flight Lieutenant. As the event blossomed, truths about the dark side of corruption were unleashed. Kevin Mathew from 3rd B.Com was the MC of the event, presenting welcome speech to our guests. Then, Mr. Pratheek addressed the gathering - giving us a warm introduction about the event. Later Mr. Phani presented an elaborate speech about Vigilance and its importance. Amazing real life incidents like Bombay Bomb Blasts were shared as an experience. In the next session, we had our college students from various departments presenting their speeches on 'Corruption free India'. There were eleven participants sharing their views and ways to minimise the corruption in our country, helping the youth in understanding what true India has to be and a true Indian has to be. Finally, Mr. Pradeep Kumar shared his versatile experiences in the CBI and Vigilance Department. He indeed added on to our knowledge about corruption and sharing elaborate details about them. As the event was nearing its end, there were prizes awarded to the winners and participants of the Elocution Competition. This awarding session motivated the participants as well as the students attending the event.

Dilip Shivagar of 3rd B.com won the first prize, followed by Mark of 3rd BA winning second price and Anmol of 1st B.com winning the 3rd price. As a token of appreciation, the Vigilance Department of HAL presented a miniature model of an Indigenous Fighter Helicopter to our college.
