Athletic Meet 2017-18
Every year the college organizes an annual athletic meet to encourage the students to participate in sports. This year the meet was held on 12th February, 2018. It provides a platform to the students of all the classes to showcase their talents in the field of sports. The day began with a general salute for our chief guest Mr. Shanmugam who is an international hockey player. This was followed by the march past performed by different classes. The troop was led by the NCC cadets and ended with the college band.

The college flag was then hoisted by the chief guest who was accompanied by our Principal Sr. Philomena Cardoza and our manager Fr. Vinoo Fabian. The oath taking ceremony was next. Rohith Solomon of III BBA took the oath on behalf of all the students. By taking this oath the students pledged that they will participate in all the events with the spirit of sportsmanship. After the oath was taken it was time for the torch to be lit by the chief guest and our principal. The light from the torch represents all the positive values that man associates with fire. The torch was given to Vijay (III BBA) and Puja (III B.Com). It was then passed on to the other torch bearers who are the budding athletes of the college.

It was then time for the chief guest to address the students and declare the sports meet open. Mr Shanmugam encouraged the students to enthusiastically participate in the sports meet. He inspired them to believe in themselves and gave the example of how life personally changed for him.

Once the sports meet was declared open, we commenced with the track and field events. There were individual as well was group activities. We witnessed the talent that our students possessed.

As a result of their efforts the BBA class was declared as the winner for march part, runners up was III and second runners up was BA and BSW classes. The individual champion for the men category was Rohith Solomon of III BBA. The overall individual champion for the women category was Mary of I BA. The overall championship trophy was bagged by II and BA, BSW for the men and women category respectively.

It was a day of celebration filled with joy and enthusiasm. We congratulate all the winners.
